Coolamon is a town in the Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia. It is located 40 kilometers north-west of Wagga Wagga and has a population of approximately 2,000 people.
The town was originally inhabited by the Wiradjuri people who named the area "Coolaman" meaning "a dish or vessel to hold water". Europeans settled in the area in the mid-19th century, and the town was officially established in 1883.
Coolamon is known for its agricultural industry, particularly the production of wheat and sheep. The town is surrounded by fertile farmland and has a number of grain silos and other agricultural infrastructure.
There are several historic buildings in Coolamon, including the Coolamon Shire Hall which was built in 1902 and is now used as a community center. The town also has a museum which showcases the history of the local area, including its Indigenous heritage and European settlement.
